The Slow Food Experience

The University of Gastronomic Sciences was founded in 2004 in Pollenzo, a hamlet in the Bra municipality. The university’s Committee was formed on 27 January 2003 with the endorsement of Slow Food founder, Carlo Petrini.This was the first step towards opening the new campus, where classes began on 4 October 2004. Today, the university is an international hub focused on education and research for sustainable agriculture, as well as on the study and preservation of bio-cultural diversity via an interdisciplinary approach.

Explore 2,500 square meters of the historic cellars where Francesco Staglieno first defined Piedmont’s modern winemaking methods for the region’s great red wines. Now showcasing bottles from the most prestigious winemakers in Italy, The Wine Bank is a real museum of wine of excellence and a truly unique initiative that’s destined to change the way we approach wine.

Circolo del Design is an open, inclusive and engaging space that exists to tell the stories of the people and companies that have shaped Piedmont’s identity. It’s a center of research on the contemporary and experimental, aimed at those that have led and supported the avant-garde in various design fields. With a rich and diverse schedule of conferences, exhibitions, workshops and special projects, the space serves as a multi-functional hub – which includes a carefully curated shop and design library.

The Officine Grandi Riparazioni (OGR) is a majestic industrial complex dating back to the late 1800s. Built at the very heart of Turin, it was central to the city’s growth for approximately one century. After being shut down in the early 1990s, it took one thousand days of renovation to bring it back to life as an engine for creativity, culture and entertainment. As of 2019 the OGR is once again a “factory” of knowledge - a hub for scientific, technological and industrial research, dedicated to digital innovation as well as creative and social contexts.
